I started my day on a very high note on the 7 th of July 2012. I woke up early, jumped into my truck bottoms and T shirt, put on trainers, grabbed my skipping rope and rushed out to my balcony.. There was a nice cool breeze that made my morning work out a lot more enjoyable.
I quickly took my bath, and jumped into a fresh pair of jeans and T- shirt.. made my hot cup of tea and dashed out of the house for my early morning prayer meeting at Church. I enjoyed the early morning drive while sipping my tea. On my way to Church, I made a few stops at filing stations to get some gas, but did not succeed.
Got Church a bit late.. found some people had already arrived.. We chatted a bit and begun to pray... As we were praying I started experiencing pain in my stomach, from my belly button region going downwards and on my right side. The pain slowly intensified. I could not stand for long I sat down for while and continued praying.
By the time we finished praying the pain was quiet intense, I was having difficulties standing, my back was beginning to burn. I told my brethren what I was experiencing. I left Church and dropped my church mate at long acres, I also managed to get some fuel there.
The pain in my stomach at this point had worsened, passed through on more place before getting home..Got some medicine(buscopan) which I felt could take away the pain and drank it immediately. The medicine I know works so well within a short space of time could not do the trick. At this point I could not walk or sit. I lay on the bed hoping to get better. But the pain only grew worse.. I found myself vomiting and feeling so drained.
I had to be rushed to the hospital.. I was in a lot of pain, and the process was very slow.. sitting down was problem, I felt a strong pull from my stomach muscle when I sat up, when I tried to lean on my stomach, my back was burning severely.. I did tests nothing serious could be found in my stomach, I could not do a scan because of the pain..They gave me jabs to arrest the muscle spasms, antibiotics and some gas medicine..
As I got home, I felt the pain go down slowly, I felt drowsy and slept.. I was so weak and tired. I has been in pain from about 8 hrs to 17 hrs. The Pain left completely two days later and I am now fine..
I learnt from this incident never to take life for granted, I prayed a prayer that day which I never ever imagined I would ever pray " Lord I don't want to die help me" at one point I even said "please Lord, don't kill me am not ready to die, I don't want to die". I thank God for the gift of life...To wake up well, strong and in good health is a blessing from God. Thank you Lord..And I don't take lightly the blood that Jesus Christ shed from me at the cross of Calvary.
